Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer 2

Contract Position

$50.98-$56.59/Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Develop mechanical systems component detail and assembly designs.
  • Analyze results and perform design reviews.
  • Develop and maintain product detail, assembly and installation designs.
  • Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
  • Document processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical system parts and assemblies.
  • Develop basic statements of work.
  • Participate in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Work under general direction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and typically 2 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with experience in an engineering classification.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical system design or analysis
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in the aerospace industry
    • Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft mechanical systems
    • Experience working with CATIA
    • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft hydraulic system components design, qualification, and requirements – pumps, actuators, valves, etc.
    • Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft fuel system components including design, qualification, and requirements – pumps, valves, fuel bladders, gauging system, etc.
    • Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft ECS system components including design, qualification, and requirements – fans, heat exchangers, avionics cooling, air supply and distribution, sensors, and controls, etc.
    • Experience with aircraft or rotorcraft Engine control system development, integration, and testing
    • Experience with the integration and installation of hydraulic, fuel, and ECS sub-systems and components in aircraft
