Position Summary
Essential Functions:
Install and assist in starting new equipment. Diagnose problems and affect repairs to Plant equipment on a timely basis. Perform preventative maintenance on Plant equipment through the use of the Computerized Maintenance System.
Pay Rates:
First 30 days: $28.81
After 30 days: $36.01
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Efficiently diagnose problems with Plant equipment and perform repairs on a timely basis.
- Perform preventative maintenance on Plant equipment through the use of the Maximo Computerized Maintenance System
- Install new equipment as directed and assist in start-up.
- Be able to efficiently use all shop equipment.
- Follow all safety requirements for lock-out/tag-out, for confined space and tank entry, for handling of hazardous materials, and for wearing of personal protective equipment.
- Upon completion of an assignment, clean the area of all maintenance materials and debris; notify operating personnel as to completion of the assigned work.
- Train or assist with the training of other personnel as required.
- Perform the following mechanical activities as requested by the Company:
- Instrumentation, installation/removal and or Calibration
- Motor installations/removals and or adjustment/alignments
- Air handler repairs
- Votators (barrels) Maintenance/repairs
- Actuator changes
- Mechanical activities that do not require breaking the seal of active ammonia piping, as assigned
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by management
Measurement of Position Performance:
The effectiveness of the Class A Mechanic’s position will be measured in the following manner:
- All breakdowns are quickly diagnosed and repairs effectively made.
- All assigned work orders P.M.’s are satisfactorily completed in the allotted time.
- All discretionary time is effectively utilized.
- All work is done safely.
- At the completion of the work, the area is properly cleaned of all maintenance materials and debris, and proper notification of operating personnel is made.
Position Goals:
The Class A Mechanic has the following primary goals:
- Ensure that all production and support areas receive maintenance support as required.
- Ensure that all breakdowns are quickly and accurately diagnosed and that repairs are effectively and quickly made.
- Ensure that all assigned P.M.’s are satisfactorily completed within the allotted time.
- Ensure that all work is done safely and in a sanitary fashion.
Qualifications:
The Class A Mechanic must possess the following qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED or 5 years coffee or tea processing experience.
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years as a mechanic working in a factory environment.
- Must have a sound working knowledge of all shop equipment.
- Must be able to read, interpret and work from drawings.
- Must maintain Cold Room qualifications.
- Must satisfactorily complete Ammonia Awareness Training.
- Must attend and pass initial Ammonia/Refrigeration training.
- Must attend and pass initial Ammonia/Refrigeration training every three years.
Qualification Period:
150 days qualification period

The CRQ Mechanic A’s shall follow:
- Freehold factory safety & environmental objectives & targets
- Follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately
- Maintain compliance with regulations
- Refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs
