Job Summary

Our Legal Department is looking for a talented and dynamic commercial lawyer with initiative and drive who can handle a high volume of varied and complex legal work and is passionate about their work. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, hungry to learn, highly organized, detail oriented, responsive, and can work independently as well as part of a dynamic team. This is a terrific opportunity for a junior-level associate who desires an in-house role with a focus on a wide variety of transactional legal work such as contract review and negotiation with significant cross-functional legal opportunities: there will be opportunities to step into a departmental role as the interface with business units for certain customer-facing contracts, such as the business and customer terms of service. The Counsel will report directly to Vice President, Legal.

To succeed in this position, you must be able to work independently and efficiently and adapt to new strategies. The successful applicant will lead in smaller contract negotiations and provide meaningful support to colleagues in major transactions and issues and advise on a range of commercial issues important to Altice USA’s business. Responsibilities

  • Quickly gain an understanding of Altice USA’s business, services and internal systems.
  • Draft and negotiate cloud and licensing agreements, professional services agreements; vendor agreements, reseller agreements, OEM agreements, and other commercial, technology and procurement contracts.
  • Provide strategic legal and business advice to the company’s Procurement Department.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline negotiations and scale legal resources; and
  • Tackle other interesting legal projects and assist team members on other projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on value of business to Altice USA while working to meet deadlines.
  • Perform well under pressure under tight deadlines with attention to details.
  • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and capability to develop creative solutions to difficult business and legal challenges.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and efficient work habits.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school with high academic credentials
  • Member in good standing of the New York bar (preferred; other bar memberships will be considered)
  • 3-5 years of attorney experience after law school in a law firm and/or an in-house legal department
  • Experience with commercial contracts, procurement, construction or government contracting preferred.

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $121,715.00 – $194,744.00 /year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
