Arcadis is looking for a Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC to join the Mechanical Group in our White Plains, New York office.

Role description:

This is a terrific opportunity to work for a global leader in the environmental consulting field. The candidate will work along with our in-house HVAC and plumbing design engineers, architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, instrumentation/controls engineers, and process design engineers on a varied and wide in scope assortment of projects throughout the country.

Role Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for HVAC design and construction services for industrial and commercial facilities to a diverse client base in the Northeast and across the US. You will develop design projects from inception to completion and prepare complete construction packages and be accountable as project and/or task manager for the planning, design, and construction of HVAC systems on assigned projects. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Meet established scope, budget, and delivery schedule for each assignment.
  • Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions.
  • Coordinate execution of projects with other disciplines and the project manager or program manager.
  • Perform design calculations.
  • Provide support for construction, commissioning, and start-up services.
  • Site work for obtaining existing field conditions for design.
  • Preparing technical reports including basis of design and system evaluations.
  • Preparing technical specifications, construction cost estimates and design effort budgeting.
  • Oversee junior level design staff that assist with project tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience in HVAC design.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

  • Building code analysis experience.
  • Heating and cooling load analysis software.
  • Field experience – gathering information, evaluating existing equipment, and troubleshooting systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering license in NY.
  • Design experience associated with water and wastewater facility design.
  • Revit and AutoCAD modeling and drafting software.
  • Carrier Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) heating and cooling load software application.
  • Microsoft 365 software including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start date, and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $122,000 – $183,000.
