Media Activation Manager
About the Account:

EssenceMediacom has worked for NBCUniversal for many years and have continued to grow and evolve our relationship with this client starting with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment over 20 years ago. The client is split across several business operations – Universal Theatrical (Cinema), Home Window (Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital movie downloads & rentals), TV Networks (SyFy, E! and Universal Channel) and Hayu (subscription VOD service). The international team oversees local agency teams in EMEA, LATAM and APAC in over 20 different countries.
The Universal Pictures International team specifically is responsible for digital media planning and buying across international markets for the theatrical trailer breaks as well as pan-regional partnerships and local market governance and best practice.
About the role:
The Media Activation team is responsible for providing thoughtful and exciting recommendations for Search, Social, Display, and Video, owning supplier relationships, and then executing those recommendations expertly. The Media Activation team leverages their mastery of each channel to make sure its recommendations are consistently excellent and innovative, and that in-channel performance and data integrity is maximized.
The Social Activation Manager is responsible for owning the day-to-day execution of all elements of paid media activity, employing strong platform knowledge & supplier relationships to deliver flawless testing, optimization, and analysis. The role involves managing one to two juniors, overseeing their work and their development to successfully execute client deliverables and progress all internal projects. You will also work closely with your client lead (and the associate director of social activation), to deliver world class social programs which exceed our client’s expectations.
Some of the things we’d like you to do:
- Plan, launch and optimize media channels within a media campaign
- Responsible for owning publisher relationships, publisher RFPs and RFP scorecards
- Support end of month/quarter campaign wrap ups
- Regularly contribute to media best practices and campaign processes
- Develop and execute rigorous testing plans
- Craft actionable insights for weekly and quarterly reports
- Tactically plan and oversee all social activation launches and QA within a media campaign
A bit about yourself:
- Approximately 3-4 years experience in a digital media agency, minimum 3 year of media buying experience.
- Proficiency in Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Linkedin, Pinterest, Reddit and emerging social platforms
- Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, etc)
- Background in reporting and data analytics within the social space
- Experiencing in managing 1-2 junior team members preferred
- A passion for everything digital, with an active interest and understanding of online advertising industry trends
- Strong understanding of optimization levers & testing approaches across media buying platforms would be desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are particularly important in developing client relationships and maintaining efficient communication across the team
- Great analysis skills (including quantitative analysis) and confidence in making information based decisions
- Adept at working within team and partnering across teams

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $60,000 to $140,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
