The Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry is under unprecedented transformation, as companies rapidly digitize and stream content to interact with consumers in ways never before thought possible. AWS is actively investing in this space and is looking to help M&E customers create and distribute content and interactive experiences faster and easier.

With digital transformation widespread across all industries there is a shift in technology spending from IT to the Line of Business (LOB) with LOB spending forecast to grow more than 2 times faster than IT spending and 45% of executives stating that tailoring to their industry and business is essential.

The Media and Entertainment Principal Sales role will lead our response to this shift in technology buying bringing deep industry expertise, technology knowledge to build AWS industry leadership and credibility across our east coast based accounts. The candidate will build strategies alongside our AWS Account Managers and Partner Managers to establish key partners and ISV relationships to harness our combined strengths to deliver success for our customers.

Key job responsibilities

The candidate will be embedded with the local sales teams (while maintaining close alignment to East and Global business development teams) accountable for:

Define and develop local industry strategy to penetrate across the Media & Entertainment, Advertising and Audience Measurements industry that centers on how we win the sectors for client facing tech decisions

Build and execute our brand awareness and visibility strategy for the industry (in conjunction with marketing teams)

Own the plan and execution to get in front of key industry stakeholders and customers to open conversations and relationship

Provide domain expertise to assist account teams with M&E and Advertising account planning

Provide domain expertise to deliver M&E and Advertising specific presentations at customer meetings and executive briefings

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years of technology related sales or business development experience

5+ years of field experience positioning software or cloud solutions to the F1000

BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Track record of developing sustainable new business
• Extensive customer network
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Consulting experience (internally or externally) within the Media and Entertainment or Advertising field
• Experience in positioning and selling technology in new customers and new market segments
• Experience in proactively growing customer relationships within an account while expanding their understanding of the customer’s business
• Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $252,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. This position is eligible for variable pay via a sales compensation plan. These plans pay according to achievement level against sales targets and/or business objectives. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
