What You Will Do
The Communications and External Affairs Division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Media Production/Services Specialist 2 to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of visual storytelling, responsible for producing captivating digital imagery, including both still photographs and videos, that serve diverse purposes ranging from training and promotion to documentation. Your expertise will be vital in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, assessing multimedia needs, and developing innovative concepts to meet the Laboratory’s communication goals. Operating at the intersection of technology and creativity, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of computing, networking, and imaging technologies to address complex challenges and ensure the production of media content that adheres to security policies and procedures. In this position you will be editing photos and videos in a post production setting for institutional and programmatic multimedia services.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Software Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with industry-standard multimedia software tools and applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Final Cut Pro, and other relevant software platforms.
Communication Skills: Proficiency in both verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively convey ideas, concepts, and recommendations. Demonstrated skill in negotiating with customers and vendors to ensure successful collaboration and outcomes.
Multimedia Production: Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and producing collaborative audiovisual productions in a team environment. Proven ability to contribute creative and innovative ideas to the development of multimedia content that aligns with organizational goals. Proven expertise in post-production skill including but not limited to: editing, story construction, audio design, graphics creation. Demonstrated abilities in short and long form video.
Audiovisual Expertise: Proficiency in audio recording, sound design, and music selection to enhance multimedia content. Knowledge of audio editing software and techniques.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Storyboarding and Scriptwriting: Experience in creating storyboards and writing scripts to plan and guide the production of multimedia content, ensuring a coherent and impactful visual narrative.
Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to take on a leadership role within multimedia projects, providing guidance, direction, and mentorship to junior team members when necessary.
Client Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage clients, understand their needs, and provide exceptional customer service. Experience in effectively communicating complex multimedia concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Innovative Problem-Solving: A track record of innovative problem-solving, utilizing creative thinking and research to overcome challenges and achieve optimal results in multimedia production.
Production Skills: Experience with multimedia production equipment including but not limited to production gear, camera, audio recording devices, and lighting.

Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement. (partially onsite/partially offsite) from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite will be periodically required. Hybrid is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 – Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
