The University of Maine System is accepting applications for a Media Services Technician CL3. This position is responsible for performing duties related to the general maintenance, delivery, and support of a variety of classroom/distance learning and/or audio/video services. Tasks are diverse, requiring general knowledge and skill in multiple areas of audio, video, computer equipment, and services. The Media Services Technician CL3 applies a broad knowledge of classroom/distance learning and/or related audiovisual and computer technologies to ensure consistent and reliable operations and support. Flexible scheduling is required, including mornings and weekends.

Operating within a shared services model, the offices of Information Technology, Strategic Procurement, Human Resources, Facilities, Risk and General Services, Finance and Budget, Shared Processing Center, General Counsel and Organizational Effectiveness partner to form the University Services organization.

Charged with delivering key administrative functions across the System, University Services is dedicated to leveraging its significant unit and collective resources to not only serve the immediate needs of its constituents, but deliver sustainable economies and efficiencies for the future benefit of the System as well.

This position is based at the University of Southern Maine, Portland campus. Travel between campuses (Portland, Gorham, Lewiston-Auburn) is required, but not on a regular basis.

The starting rate is $20.71 for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the ACSUM collective bargaining unit. In addition, the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Qualifications:

Required:

  • Two years of technical or specialized training beyond high school, or combination of equivalent relevant experience and education.
  • Three years of technology support experience.
  • Experience with audiovisual technology support.
  • Customer service focus.
  • Valid Driver’s License and be an authorized and approved University Driver based on the Driver Administration Policy.
  • Experience with integrated audiovisual presentation and video teleconferencing technologies; including but not limited to audio mixers, video switchers.

Preferred:

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Technology support experience in an academic setting.
  • Live event technology support or planning experience.
  • Familiarity with Extron media control systems.
