POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the Parks & Recreation Director, and assigned under direct supervision of a Parks Foreman, performs a variety of maintenance of Draper City parks, which may include turf mowing, weed control, gardening, and turf fertilization, and daily park building maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains city parks, facilities, open spaces and equestrian arena; mows, fertilizes, and trims turf at city parks, cemetery and recreation facilities.
- Picks up garbage and litter.
- Operates and maintains vehicles and equipment.
- Performs miscellaneous repairs and maintenance.
- Cleans and tidies up park restrooms.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education – High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience – Related experience preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications – Valid Utah Driver License. Must pass a lift test of 50 pounds on date of hire.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, reach, use hands/finger to feel, handle, and grip, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May be confined to small spaces to perform work. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. (Performance of duties may require working in varied weather conditions such as extreme cold or hot conditions.) Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and dusty or greasy conditions, Occasional exposure to high levels of noise. Operate equipment and drive vehicles. Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May drive a motor vehicle.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Part time position up to 29 hours per week. Schedule is varied and flexible.
- Salary range: $11.38-$18.19 (Starting wage is dependent on experience.)
