MedTech Supply Chain Transformation Communications

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a MedTech Supply Chain Transformation Communications partner. This position can be located in Irvine CA, New Brunswick NJ, Houston TX, Toronto CA or San Lorenzo PR.

The Network Transformation & Procurement Supply Chain Communicator will manage all internal and external communications plans for Supply Chain network transformation programs across Johnson and Johnson MedTech (JJMT). This person will sit on the PMO teams for all programs and have accountability for managing JJMT’s reputation and risk for these confidential / highly sensitive initiatives. Additionally, this person will support critical initiatives for the global Procurement Team, including supplier engagement strategy and ensuring a strong connection to network transformation programs.

This person will also work in close partnership with the Global and Franchise Supply Chain Communications Team on an overall MedTech Supply Chain communications strategy that supports our MedTech and J&J business priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Business and influence network

  • Provide strategic communications council to the global VP of MedTech Procurement
  • An active member of multiple PMO teams across all MedTech franchises and global regions.
  • Manage horizontal CPA teams needed to deliver network transformation programs (including Global Supply Chain Communications, Franchise Communications, Regional Communications, and Site-based Communicators).
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Leadership Teams and Government Affairs on key regulatory and global issues that may impact communications strategy.
  • Maintain a program reporting cadence with the Global Supply Chain Communications Manager on critical risks and opportunities.
  • Engage with the EC and other Executive Stakeholders as needed.

Network Transformation Programs

  • Lead the cross-functional teams required to build the internal and external communications plans for all Global MedTech Supply Chain network transformation programs.
  • Manage reputation and mitigate risk as a priority across all communications strategies.
  • Build stakeholder maps and communications cascades for all network transformation programs.
  • Lead Change Management toolkit development and approvals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional PMO teams to build the stakeholders’ messaging and content to support network transformation programs.
  • Conduct robust reviews of all communications material across key global stakeholders.
  • Train leaders to manage change while ensuring sustained engagement through project execution.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across J&J to execute network transformation programs advocating for Credo-based project management.
  • Develop content to drive awareness of changes resulting from the transformations and promote the content across key communications channels.
  • Standardize critical processes to help mitigate risk.

Procurement Communications

  • Develop content to build the narrative around our Global MT Procurement organization and promote it across key channels.
  • Ensure strong connectivity between the global procurement team and critical network transformation projects.
  • Develop supplier related messaging for investors, internal stakeholders, external manufactures, and other critical stakeholder groups.
  • Support external engagements with global suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Media Relations, Employee Communications, Legal, Public Affairs, R&D, and other areas of MedTech and J&J as appropriate to drive strategic initiatives.

Measurement and Metrics Reporting

  • Provide insights to design and effectively apply two-way communication channels for employees.
  • Monitor, measure and improve effective communication utilizing a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Measure the effectiveness of critical business transformation through Credo-based approaches.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in communications or a related field.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to obtain, analyze and synthesize information, listening and critical reasoning skills.
  • Skilled project manager who can manage commtech platforms to support programs.
  • Must be skilled in change management and large-scale, global business transformation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working on clean sheeted projects.
  • A strong candidate must be a trusted advisor with the ability to provide strategic communications council to key leaders.
  • Must be able to work on multiple initiatives concurrently and across global time zones.
  • Superior writing, editing, and oral presentation skills.
  • High-level visual communication skill (including presentation development).
  • Understanding of public perceptions as well as new media/communications approaches.
  • Creativity in developing options and solutions.
  • Ability to plan and execute communication campaigns for site openings, site closures, internal and external tech transfers.
  • A strong candidate will possess prior media relations and government affairs experience.
  • Budget and agency management experience is a must.

Preferred:

  • Prior Supply Chain Communications and/or Change Management experience preferred.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, medical device or supply chain industry is preferred.

Other:

  • Up to 25% travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
