The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking an individual to fill the position of Meetings Assistant. The successful candidate will work to maintain the Ohio Judicial Center’s meetings and events calendar by assisting with meetings including room set up, coordination of lunch and food service, beverages, supplies and room equipment as needed as well as cleaning up before and after meetings. They will also process incoming and outgoing U.S. and interoffice mail.

What you will do:
• Schedule meetings using the Court’s data base and maintain the meetings and events calendar.
• Set up for meetings including lunch and food service, beverages, supplies and room equipment as needed.
• Clean up before and after meetings.
• Maintain kitchen equipment. Clean out refrigerators, ice makers and warming ovens. Wash and maintain table linens, dinnerware and utensils.
• Prepare signage for conferences, meetings and events held at the Judicial Center.
• Deliver and pick up incoming and outgoing mail throughout the building. Drive the mail room van when necessary to deliver and pick up mail. Load and unload mail from the mail room van.
• Operate postage equipment, including X-Ray equipment that scans all inbound mail deliveries to the building. Scan express packages with handheld device before delivery to recipient. Verify receipt of express packages using handheld device.
• Maintain postage accounts properly while processing outbound mail. Hand process inbound mail daily by sorting and bundling mail for each office of responsibility.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for…
• High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience working with internal customers and the public is preferred.
• Two years of experience in a service-oriented position. Two years of experience in the field of shipping and receiving, as well as prior experience working in a secured building or environment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to operate postage equipment; sort items into categories according to established methods; complete routine forms and records; stand walk or bend continuously.
• Ability to obtain certification in the use of X-Ray scanning equipment is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and team-lift heavier packages/items.
• Familiarity with Microsoft word, excel and access programs and office equipment (i.e. fax machines, copiers).
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, to establish positive public relations, and to interact effectively with supervisors, co-workers, judges, attorneys, court staff, and the public.
