Description

ABOUT NORTHSTAR: NorthStar Clubhouse is an evidence-based mental health recovery
program operating under New Narrative Integrative Mental Health and accredited by
Clubhouse International. The Clubhouse is split into several units: Nutrition & Wellness,
Membership, Operations, and Employment & Education. The Clubhouse Model is a
specialized form of community-based psychosocial rehabilitation that uses shared tasks as
the medium for positive growth. By participating in the Clubhouse, members build
relationships, routine, increase confidence, and find a renewed sense of purpose.

GENERAL STAFF DESCRIPTION: Staff generate member involvement in all aspects of
clubhouse operations as a means to facilitate member’s personal recovery goals. Staff are
generalists and support other staff and departments as needed.

All Staff Duties
Working with members on the daily tasks to promote confidence, connection, skills,
satisfaction, stabilization, and their personal goals
Attending multiple meetings throughout the day
Assisting with Transitional Employment positions and covering shifts when member
employees are not able to report for their placement
Rotating with other staff to cover occasional weekend, holiday, and after hour events
Linking members to community services
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Membership Coordinator has two primary roles: carrying out
administrative duties and facilitating member involvement in those duties.
Membership Coordinator Duties
Logging and maintaining data such as; attendance, contact info, outreach, etc.

Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with mental health providers
via phone, email, orientations, presentations, etc.
Processing referrals, scheduling and participating in orientations
Coordinating and facilitating new member intake
Collecting monthly membership statistics and submitting to relevant agencies
Supporting member involvement in all aspects of the Membership Unit
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to establish relationships rooted in mutuality, curiosity, and hope
Exemplify cultural humility
Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness; a degree in a related
field, or 1/more years work experience, or relevant trainings/certifications
Proficiency with basic computer programs such as google and microsoft suite
Good telephone etiquette, time management, organizational skills, and flexibility
Valid Oregon Driver’s License and current insurance/acceptable driving record
Skilled in using trauma informed principles
Additional Skills and/or Certifications
Experience with or knowledge of the Clubhouse International Rehabilitative model
Experience using software like canva and mailchimp
Bilingual candidates preferred
Peer Support Specialist Certification, bystander intervention training, crisis support or
de-escalation training, Mental Health First Aid, etc.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a computer
Navigating a single level multi-room office setting. *Reasonable accommodations may

HIRING PROCESS:
Members are involved in each step of the hiring process. The first step is a brief phone
screening. Second is an initial in-person or zoom interview that is open to the hiring
committee. Third is a final interview that is open to the whole community, which can be alarger group. We will need 2-3 references. The selected candidate will need to pass a
background check and get fingerprinted.

Job type:
Full-time (40 hours)
Schedule is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with occasional evenings/weekends/holidays
