REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer
PURPOSE: Assist the Membership Services department in the development and growth of USA Softball’s grassroots programs through communication and customer service of regions and local associations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
” Assist council members with program management, production reports, league and tournament management.
” Train new council members to be familiar with USA Softball governance and local association benchmarks.
” Assist Chief Operating Officer in the interpretation of the USA Softball Bylaws and Code. Includes handling of telephone inquiries from commissioners and other council members regarding application of the Code.
” Monitor the delivery of the new membership programs and platforms such as registration, ACE Coaching program, Safe Softball, and background check process.
” Develop USA Softball educational materials and content for communications.
” Maintain membership records, including reviewing new applications and correspondence.
” Assist in the planning of USA Softball governance events such as the Annual Council Meeting, UIC Clinic, JO Commissioner Meeting, etc.
” Liaise on behalf of the National Office at local association and regional meetings, either in person or virtually.
” Collaborate with local associations to successfully host respective National Championships and annually update bid packet, tournament director packet, and post-tournament forms.
” Responsible for working closely with all departments with USA Softball to meet all objectives on membership requirements.
” Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
” Ability to work at National Headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK
” Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public administration or a related field
” Excellent organizational focus and attention to detail
” Clear, concise and effective verbal and written communication skills
” Ability to be a self-starter as well as work in team environment
” Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and travel domestically
” Works effectively and quickly in a dynamic environment with exceptional prioritization skills
” Eager to learn in an ever-changing industry with a passion for sports, softball preferred
Salary range for this position is $44,000-50,000, depending on experience.
