Description

Under supervision and as a member of a multi-agency team provide assessment, crisis intervention, individual therapy, and case management to youth detained at Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall and to outpatient cases referred by Probation’s Early Intervention Diversion Program (EIDP).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide primarily short-term services to youth detained at Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall, including: assessment, crisis intervention, individual therapy, and case management. Additionally sees outpatient cases referred by Probation’s EIDP.

Works in collaboration with Department of Mental Health staff co-located at Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall, as well as Department of Probation staff.

Participates in case planning and case disposition meetings with DMH co-located staff and assigned DPOs.

Completes all required DMH, Probation, and Center chart documentation, report writing and correspondence within the mandated time frames.

Maintains at least the required productivity level of 65% on a consistent basis. Submits weekly schedule of client appointments. Completes all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field – BBS licensed eligible required.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mental health setting working with adolescents. Experience in a program serving probationary youth highly desirable.

Must pass Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance. Ability to speak Spanish is desirable.

Valid California Driver’s License is required. Must meet guidelines of agency’s driving criteria (i.e. Proof of liability insurance, minimal moving violations, driving record free of DUI’s or reckless driving in the last 3 years, etc.) and maintain the criteria as per company policy at all times.

Ability to communicate and work with probationary youth, Probation Detention staff, and Department of Mental Health staff as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team to support detained.

Must have a current California Driver’s License and be insurable by the Center’s auto insurance company.
