Job SUMMARY
To support our continuing growth CoolSys Energy Design is in search of experienced Engineers and Designers in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or Refrigeration systems to join our team!
Under supervision, Engineers and Designers take on project assignments in their assigned discipline (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or refrigeration) from project conception to Construction Document issuance including engineering calculations and plan drafting. We work with a variety of high-quality regional and nationwide supermarket and retailers as well as office, mixed-use, and high-rise multi-family buildings, so attention to detail and quality of work is a must!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and create detailed designs for the discipline.
- Perform engineering load calculations, system selections, and other design calculations.
- Create and maintain AutoCAD and Revit drawing packages.
- Maintain responsible control over all design activities pertaining to the project, including engineering, quality control, and code compliance.
- Ensure work is executed accurately and in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure preparation of the design’s calculations and engineering drawings is constructible and compile code and customer requirements.
- Prepare engineering documents that meet customer quality requirements and company standards.
- Coordinate with local building officials regarding code compliance.
- Assist on site surveys, site inspections, and reporting as required.
- Incorporate selection, layout, sizing, and applicable system and equipment requirements with direction from management when required.
- Provide support for other department activities as required including plotting drawings, producing transmittals, and coordinating shipment of deliverables, if necessary.
- Be assigned projects that are commensurate with training, proficiency, and experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or Refrigeration systems design related to commercial, retail, supermarket, and industrial buildings.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines are considered based on experience and skill set.
- Revit and AutoCAD design/drafting experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, as well as demonstrated high quality technical writing skills and proficiency in English.
- Team player with sound business ethics and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to achieve project goals and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors, in order to develop a full understanding of building energy systems and their operation.
