Metrology Technician

We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented, and hands-on Metrology Technician to support the operations of our in-house diamond metrology equipment and investigate emerging diamond products for gemstone as well as technological applications. You’ll be working with an experienced team of process, metrology, and materials science engineers, and will be encouraged to gain experience in a variety of techniques and areas. The position will involve hands-on work with metrology equipment, measurement preparation, and data acquisition.

Responsibilities:

    • Prepare samples from production line as well as R&D for requested characterization
    • Operate various metrology instruments in accordance with existing SOPs
    • Perform tasks and measurements as directed from metrology engineers
    • Closely adhere to established procedures and all safety protocols
    • Acquire and maintain accurate data and share records with other team members
    • Support metrology team in efforts to achieve company objectives
    • Position will include weekend work & overtime may be required

Requirements:

    • Ability to remain focused on precision tasks
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Natural curiosity and willingness to acquire new technical skills
    • Maintains a well-organized, clean and safe work area
    • Use of required PPE and safety protocols
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
    • Ability to work well in teams, and independently with little or no supervision
    • HS diploma (or GED) with 2+ years applicable work experience
    • No work restrictions and excellent vision: sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching
    • Able and willing to work weekends and overtime to meet project deadlines
    • Experience with high-tech equipment such as optical microscopes or optical spectroscopy is a plus

$27 – $45 an hour

Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s job duties, experience, and expertise.
