PAY RANGE: 16C – min: $100,700 – mid: $134,200

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Other hours as required)

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Provide oversight and direction for the nuclear organization’s communications strategies. The strategies include supporting leaders with strategic communication and messaging; implementation of the station’s internal communications plan; establishing and maintaining strong media and key external stakeholder relations; development and delivery of strategic communications plan centered around major station initiatives and nuclear business plan; and overseeing company sponsored employee events and local community relations.

What you’ll do

  • Support all aspects of an integrated executive communication plan, which includes content development for presentations, speechwriting, blogs, social media and employee communications.
  • Provide communication guidance and feedback to leadership. Advise on communication issues, risk and solutions.
  • Facilitates discussion, development and implementation of key business objectives and initiatives.
  • Identify and introduce new communication tools and resources to support station strategies, including measurement tools.
  • Support social media presence and executive leadership messaging, including oversight of executives at industry, state and local events.
  • Provide direction to the storyboard and development of communication materials (e.g., videos, e-mails, presentations, branding material).
  • Provide leadership and oversight of all communications, artifacts, and marketing projects on station and affecting the Wolf Creek nuclear station and staff.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, strategic communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, English or related field and six years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma and 14 years of relevant experience.

Relevant experience is defined as years of experience in such areas as communications, journalism, public/media relations or organizational development.

  • Outstanding presentation creation skills
  • Expertise in creating content that is compelling, engaging, clear, consistent, measurable and supports business results

  • Strong influencing skills and ability to interact with people across multiple countries, organization levels and external partnerships
  • Experience developing, documenting and socializing communication process improvement
  • Strong management skills, including defining deliverables and associated success criteria, assessing and communicating risks, and effectively managing teams and timelines to deliver on time.

Working Conditions:

Normal office working conditions. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
