Moog Space and Defense Group is seeking a highly motivated individual to drive key programs from inception to delivery. This is a cross-functional role that requires coordination between many different groups within and outside of Moog. You will drive programs throughout the lifecycle beginning with sales handoff to delivery. You will lead programs for both existing product lines and new/modified products to include internal research development programs.
You will drive technical programs from contract award, through final product delivery. You will oversee and manage tasks throughout the design, integration, qualification, and handover to production lifecycle. You will use your technical background to understand and confirm that the requirements are interpreted and met throughout the program. Your program management experience will ensure that the program plan, schedule and costs meet both Moog and customer expectations. You will review and manage program costs and technical risks. You will communicate the health of the program both internally and to customers and present project status, and schedule.
Here is what to expect:
The Program Manager typically has responsibility for several (2-6) programs of significance to the division. These may be new and/or ongoing programs. As a general rule, the total value these programs will typically be valued at between $3-20M, however, because of technical complexity or customer approach, the dollar value may not fully represent the difficulty of the work involved. The Program Manager does not have direct reports but will coordinate the activities of a program staff totaling approximately 5-20 people.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of an BS Degree, preferably in technical discipline plus program management experience. As an alternative, the candidate could have a business degree with equivalent on the job experience.
- Minimum of five years program related experience
- Demonstrated experience in the management of engineering programs (space products preferred)
- Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining and communicating program plans and schedules
- This position will require access to US Export Controlled Information
- Some travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification is a plus
- Leadership and management of cross-functional and large teams across disciplines ranging from contracts, procurement, engineering, test, operations and quality
- Experience working with large space vehicle and prime component providers
- Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
