Job Title: MicroStrategy Lead (Onsite)
Role/Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership:
§ The role requires strong technical skills in both Cognos and MicroStrategy, as well as a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and SQL.
§ Lead a team of developers to ensure successful migration from Cognos to MicroStrategy. This involves setting clear goals, guiding the team through complex technical challenges, and ensuring high-quality output.
§ Develop a comprehensive migration strategy to ensure a smooth transition. This includes evaluating the current Cognos setup, understanding dependencies, mapping out a step-by-step process, and designing a suitable MicroStrategy architecture.
§ Interact with Business Users to gather the reporting functional requirement and convert the same into technical requirement
§ Quick learning of business domain knowledge and relate them in the data environments (Data warehouse / data mart) – Fast Learner
§ Mentor and guide team members and end-users on the functionalities of MicroStrategy. Also, provide ongoing technical support and troubleshoot any issues that may arise after the migration.
§ Document all processes, design decisions, and coding conventions related to the project. This ensures future reference and helps maintain continuity.
2. Technical Expertise:
§ Possess enough technical knowledge to support hands-on development, if required, such as designing and implementing reports, dashboards, and data models in MicroStrategy.
§ Should also understand Cognos reports and framework to effectively migrate to MicroStrategy.
§ Oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources into MicroStrategy. This involves maintaining data integrity and ensuring that data is accurately represented in the new system.
§ Experience in developing complex Reports in MicroStrategy Desktop and MicroStrategy Web using Templates, Filters, Prompts, Consolidations and Custom Group
§ Experience in creating schema Objects like attributes, facts, logical table, hierarchies and creating public objects like reports, metrics, filters, prompts, documents, dashboard
§ Experience in report performance tuning and optimization techniques (Cognos and MicroStrategy) working with relational database (Snowflake preferred)
§ Analyze and understanding Source to Target mapping documents. Should be involved in preparing required high level design document.
3. Agile Knowledge, Communication and Project Management
§ Work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Architects and other stakeholders to develop timelines, allocate resources, and monitor project progress. Help ensure the project stays on track and within budget.
§ Excellent communication skills.
§ Experience in working with Agile team and familiarity with all agile ceremonies
§ Communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and gather feedback. This includes clients, senior management, and other key decision-makers.
Required Qualifications:
§ 10 to 16 years of experience as a Reporting developer (preferably MicroStrategy, Qlikview, and Cognos) with experience in Reporting development and Migration Experience.
§ Good understanding of teradata/snowflake will be good to have.
Salary and Other Compensation :
The annual salary for this position is between $135,000.00 – $155,000.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
