We are currently accepting applications for a Temporary Summer Camp Program Director to plan and implement summer camp activities. Responsibilities include: overseeing the daily functions of the program, supervising staff, and providing direction to instructors. This camp program operates on a full-day schedule with activities including arts & crafts, sports and creative dance for participants ages 6-12. Additional responsibilities consist of general facility upkeep and maintenance of records and logs. Minimum qualifications include: a valid NC Driver’s License, High School Diploma or GED, and possession of First Aid and CPR certifications before camps begins. Preferred qualifications include: 2+ years of experience as a teacher, teacher’s aide or childcare provider. Progressive employment experience in a camp setting will also be considered. All applicants will be subject to a comprehensive background screening.
Work schedule: approximately 40 hours per week from June 5th-August 11th. Camps run 7:30am-6:00pm
If you are offered a conditional offer of employment you will need to successfully meet all of the following conditions to be hired:
- Completion of the substance abuse testing required by the Town. Be advised that you have 48 hours after accepting our conditional offer to report for the drug screen.
- Completion of a Background Screening.
- COVID-19 vaccination by the first day of work (we will accommodate those who cannot receive the vaccine for disability or religious based reasons). You must have at least one dose before your first day of work. If you are subject to getting a second dose it must be received in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Vaccination cards are to only be shared with Human Resources staff.
