Our engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how millions of fans connect, explore, and interact with Major League Soccer and with one another. MLS mobile apps and ecosystems play a major role in driving fan engagement, fan experience to support the overall growth of the league.
This is a high impact role responsible for development of MLS Apps and ecosystem to enable the best user experience that MLS fans love.
In this role, the Mobile Developer will be developing and delivering next generation MLS mobile apps working closely with the product and user experience teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop MLS iOS and android native next generation MLS apps while enforcing modularization and reusability
- Identify app-wide challenges; propose, test, and ship solutions
- Drive for continuous improvement in performance, scalability, extensibility, reliability, and usability of features
- Work with application privacy and security teams to ensure the application is properly architected and maintained
- Work closely with UX/UI team to bring the designs to life
- Enable developers to work more effectively by improving app architecture, testing capabilities and release cycles
- Solve hard-to-see user pain points that often affect the entire app such as performance, monitoring crash rates and solving user metric anomalies
- Grow as a developer by working with world-class peers on varied and high impact projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years related experience with track record of delivering on client-side engineering and mobile app development in data heavy consumer facing production grade environments.
- Solid system architecture knowledge, mobile design patterns.
- Hands-on experience developing iOS and Android native mobile application from ground up using kotlin, Flutter and Swift as well as react native frameworks.
- Experience leading small agile development teams.
- Extensive experience with backend Rest API integration, GraphQL, micro services and real-time event architectures.
- Extensive experience developing media heaving mobile applications including video playback and streaming.
- Experience with identity systems, AuthN/AuthZ, performance characterization and optimization.
- Experience with modern iOS build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, test driven development, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
- Experience with SDK development and integration
- High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Total Rewards
Starting Base Salary: $80,000 – $120,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
