Description:Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a talented and driven 3D Modeling and Texture artist for our in-house Visual Communications team. In this position you will work closely with designers, producers, creative directors, and internal clients to develop vital 3D elements that build the overall realism of our storytelling.
Not only must a model look good, it must be highly functional and have the ability to work with downstream departments and their tools. This is where you come in.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Apply advanced modelling and texturing techniques to support 3D/VFX projects
• Possess a deep understanding of multiple production, media management, and 3D production pipelines
• Support the Producer in estimating scope and schedule for model development on new projects
• Create and convert high-quality models for use in a variety of rendering and animation tools
• Interpret concept art and sketches to create virtual characters, environments and props
• Follow design guidelines, asset naming conventions and other technical constraints
• Create high-quality textures and UV maps
• Optimize, refine and correct model geometry – often to technical specifications
• Stay abreast with the latest developments in 3D design, tools, and technology
• Make recommendations to remain current and responsive to client needs
• Work with Leadership to develop process improvements, new initiatives, production efficiencies, and implement best practices
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4+ years of professional experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Expert level knowledge of 3D design and animation tools such as Maya and Cinema 4D
• Portfolio reflecting expertise in modeling for a variety of applications and creative styles

• A self-starter who embraces out-of-the-box approaches to achieving development/production goals
• Efficient and organized
• Large studio experience
• Some familiarity with animation techniques
• Some scripting experience
• Must have an outstanding work ethic and possess the ability to respond quickly to company and client needs
• An eye for detail and good visualization skills
• Excellent communication skills (written/verbal/presentation) and the ability to convey creative ideas within a collaborative environment

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $67,200 – $128,900. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
