Summary/Objective

The processing associate position gathers and reviews credit, income, and asset documentation in accordance with underwriting guidelines. The processor is responsible for preparing the loan file for underwriting consideration and tracks and clears post close file exceptions.

Essential Functions May Include

  • Review loan files for data integrity.
  • Order verifications of employment, deposit, and loans, as applicable.
  • Request and review income, asset and credit documentation for loan approval
  • Insure accurate and complete data in the LOS
  • Prepare and package the loan file in compliance with MMSs policy and procedures for underwriting consideration.
  • Coordinate, track and clear all underwriting requirements with the borrower, vendors and the Lender
  • Communicate and coordinate, as a team member, with lender, borrower, Title Company, MMS staff and other vendors to meet closing dates.
  • Reviewing all mortgage loans for compliance with internal QC policy.
  • Track and Clear all post closing file exceptions, as applicable.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach. Light to moderate lifting is occasionally required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
