Based in Denver, CO, DirectDefense is a national Information Security company with a growing SOC practice. We provide managed security services for customers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. We’re currently seeking an information security leader to interface with client executives and provide leadership and development for our talented SOC team of Analysts, Engineers, and Threat Hunters.We are on the lookout for an MSSP Director with executive experience to join our team. In this role, you will manage a team of Security Analysts and develop profitable relationships with our technical accounts. You will also oversee and develop the best security solutions for our clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Security Analysts focused on the detection of cyber security events as well as the management of detection infrastructure and response to cyber security incidents.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to the SOC team.
- Act as the knowledge base for the SOC team by providing training and knowledge sharing.
- Responsible for managing the daily operation of the SOC as well as providing strategic guidance and direction of the operation.
- Develop, implement, and manage IR strategy for customers.
- Function as a subject matter expert (SME) for customers regarding MSSP services and their design, purpose, delivery, and other relevant specifics.
- Responsible for articulating complex technical security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences up to the C-level.
- Working with customers through difficult situations with a focus on customer satisfaction and security outcomes.
- Serves as the ultimate point of escalation for customers for any high-level incidents.
- Provide support and coordination of event handling to ensure that the SOC team has the resources they need to provide the appropriate support for the remediation of malicious events.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in an Executive level position within an MSSP (Managed Service Security Provider).
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or technical sales.
- Proven leadership experience in large-scale security teams.
- Knowledge of threats, trends, and technologies within the cybersecurity space.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
- CISSP or equivalent security certification.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, NISD, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking abilities.
- Experience in leading successful sales and marketing efforts.

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, DirectDefense provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual salary is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $130,000 – $200,000 per year.
