Duties
As a Multimedia and Communications Specialist GS 1001 12, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
– Audiovisual production, visual information, photography, electronic multimedia imaging/graphics, video editing, reproductions, and video conferencing.
– Plans, designs and develops visual communications projects, primarily in the form of displays, printed products, visual presentations, and multimedia products, aimed at communicating business concepts.
– Work with lines of business to ensure all branding is consistent with Department-wide policy.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level (starting salary $94,199) if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
1) Produce multimedia presentations and products for various internal and external groups;
2) Knowledge of Branding processes sufficient to create logos, seals and graphics used on printed median, online and virtual and in-person events;
3) Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of specialized photographic and videography equipment, techniques, and processes to performs assignments of unusual and high-level situations;
4) Knowledge of design software used to design images, edits photos, create publications and websites like Adobe Illustrator, MS PowerPoint and Publisher, Photoshop and InDesign;
5) Develop digital strategy and campaign plans to launch effective information campaigns across appropriate information outlets
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade
Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service.
