Job Description Summary:
The Division of Office of Communications and Marketing is currently seeking a Multimedia Producer. The division combines the communications, marketing, and creative services, for the university.
Communications and Marketing develops and implements strategy and tactics for showcasing and raising the visibility of the university’s experts, initiatives, and accomplishments. It manages media inquiries and interviews with senior university leadership and produces print and online publications to showcase the university.
This position shoots, edits, and produces video content for all areas of the university. This position requires knowledge of various forms of media, including but not limited to cinematography, commercial/studio/field production, lighting schemes, video and audio editing, and graphic animation. An ideal candidate will be well-versed in video editing and all aspects of video production as well as digital storytelling.
The Multimedia Producer helps in the creation and implementation of multimedia deliverables across GW digital properties, including web, mobile, and social media, ensuring best practices are followed.
The incumbent should be comfortable multitasking and working on shorter projects with tight deadlines as well as long-term video campaigns.
The incumbent will be expected to stay current on emerging and new digital trends, the latest in video equipment, and best practices in video production.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere
- Experience in AE motion graphics
- Experience with Canon Cinema Cameras
- Experience using gimbals, sliders, and motion-control camera systems
- Understands audio recording, mixing, and wireless audio
- Experience in digital storytelling
- Strong communication skills
- Enjoys working in a collaborative environment but can work independently
- Knowledge of developing video content for social media platforms
Typical Hiring Range
$50,005.36 – $68,716.00 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
