Summary:

Epic Charter Schools is seeking a highly organized communicator with wide-ranging skills including video production, photography and graphic design to support the Family Engagement Department in its mission to bring families and caregivers together to build a sense of community within Epic.

Our Family Engagement Department provides events and resources around the state to empower families with resources and guidance for navigation of the Epic learning models for all grade levels.

Primary responsibilities will be the creation and implementation of consistent, organized, effective communications (written, verbal and visual) to students, caregivers and all Epic employees.

All communications should be cohesive and on-brand according to Epic standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in composing and distributing communications to Epic families and staff, with the expectation that correspondence be accurate, timely, clear, concise and compelling.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of field trips and other activities and events statewide (frequent travel with mileage reimbursement).
  • Scripting, production and editing of original video projects.
  • Collaborate with Epic News Network to help edit student created video for both the Healthy Habits Cooking Show and the on-location Physical Activity Spotlights around the state.
  • Assist with live-stream events and webinars as needed.
  • Collaborate on the design and production of event signage and promotional/instructional materials.
  • Collaborate on ways to creatively engage families at public events (must be personable and engaging, initiating conversational interaction with students and families at all attended events).
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown.
  • Create sharable written and visual materials monthly board presentations.
  • Attend weekly and quarterly team meetings.
  • Content creation for social media promotion.
  • Provide general creative input as it relates to team projects.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, including the ability to collaborate, adapt to change and champion innovation.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, professionalism and ability to build and maintain positive relations with administrators, co-workers, staff, faculty and students.
  • Actively participate in the success of Epic Charter Schools.
  • Adhere to laws, policies, procedures and ethical standards of Epic Charter Schools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or related field preferred but not required.
  • Approximately 2-3 years professional experience in education, public relations, journalism, marketing or related field.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Mac OS, Windows, Microsoft Office and Zoom. Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.

  • Current driver’s license and valid car insurance
