Summary

This position is located in the United Sates Agency for Global Media (USAGM), Voice of America (VOA), Eurasia Division, Armenian Service. The Multimedia Specialist (Armenian) incumbent performs journalistic work of generating quality coverage of stories, events, and interviews. Produces these coverages for multimedia distribution for use on digital, social media, and TV platforms in Armenia and the United States.

Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as a multimedia producer ensuring high production quality before live and recorded productions, assembling show elements before air, serving as a studio producer, and completing logs shortly after a program airs.
  • Selects, edits, adapts and uploads Armenian Service news, correspondent reports, backgrounders, features, photographs, graphics, and audio/video elements onto the Armenian Service website, social media sites, and the affiliate portal (USAGM Direct).
  • Shoots and/or records and edits original content. Assembles, coordinates, and directs the resources necessary to produce quality content for multimedia applications.
  • Designs, conceptualizes, creates and produces original stories for use in TV, digital, and/or social media platforms.

Qualifications

Screen-out factor: Applicants must have fluency in both English and Armenian languages that enables them to speak, read, write, report, and translate in both languages. This language screen out factor MUST be listed in your resume to receive consideration.

Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GG-11 level or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private and public sectors. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience required for this position are:

  • Knowledge and experience of journalistic work generating quality coverage of stories, events, and interviews;
  • Shooting photos and videos, recording audio, editing audio and video, for use on print, TV, digital, and social media;
  • Preparing scripts for use on multimedia platforms, such as social media, the web, digital devices, and TV;
  • Knowledge of Armenia, its history, economics, culture, socio-political development, as well as its media landscape and trends.
