JOB SUMMARY

The System Application Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s reservation system. The position will be located in New York but can also be remote. The applications administrator will be responsible for supporting the reservation system and providing application support for all users addressing escalated issues and ensuring the daily stability of these business-critical systems/applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Maintain the highest level of operational functionality for the company’s reservation system.
• Provide data Management in MXP and POS, ensuring data accuracy and availability.
• Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to usability concerns.
• Monitor the MXP Interface daily, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Respond to inquiries that are related to the Marine Operations systems (MXP). This includes documenting resolutions and building a knowledge base for end users to reference.
• Work with the Network support team to schedule application installations, upgrades, service packs and in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
• High-level knowledge of database concepts.
• Maintain business/technical relationships with vendors.
• Create/Maintain technical and procedural documentation for supported systems/applications.
• Manage users and permission access within the system to ensure all levels of operations have appropriate functionality within the system.
• Project manage the deployment of marine operations applications and new features within existing applications.
• Provide end-user application training and develop a governance model on how the business will use these applications.
• Providing technical support on board for hardware and application issues related to a Property Management System (PMS) to ensure the smooth operation of various hotel and guest-related services.
• Collaborate with other IT systems to facilitate seamless data flow and integration between the MXP application and other software systems.
• Provide administrative support to IT VP when needed.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred – Qualifications /Education / Experience
• Preferred BS degree in Computer Science/Information Systems.
• 3 years of application administration experience.
• Experience with MXP/NS5 Marine Operations/Procurement software is a plus.
• System/Application Certification preferred.

Required – Qualifications /Education / Experience
• AA degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent work and education related experience.
• Minimum 2 years of application administration experience and application database management.

$75,000 – $85,000 a year

This position is eligible for bonus opportunity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee will also be required to write and type. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

COMPENSATION STATEMENT

Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate’s region/town/cost of living.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
