Why does the job exist?
The NAEP Coordinator actively contributes to all aspects of the administration and reporting of the testing associated with the National Assessment of Educational Progress. The coordinator complies with all applicable federal requirements, including requirements set by the state of New Mexico and the U.S. Department of Education. This position is provides services and ensures deliverables required by the state of New Mexico in meeting its federal obligation for NAEP testing. Additionally, the role provides support to local NAEP school test coordinators and technology coordinators on procedures for administration of online test administrations and field tests as required by the U.S. Congress, including the inclusion of students with disabilities and English learners.

How does it get done?
Key areas of responsibility include:
* Training and technical support for NAEP test administration and accommodations and policies school for NAEP school test coordinators
* Quarterly reporting of NAEP tasks to the national NAEP Service Center regarding state accomplishments and required tasks
* Management of the NAEP budget
* Attending national meetings and trainings held to support the role of NAEP state coordinators.

Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate has the following:
* education and/or experience Microsoft programs, in particular Excel
* knowledge and experience in online or computer-based assessment administration
* education and/or experience in the classroom
* knowledge and/or experience with Individualized Education Plans (IEP), 504s, and English Learner Plans.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Administration or Business Administration and five (5) years of experience as a teacher and/or program administrator. Substitutions apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico’s Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some occasional travel is required for meetings and conferences.
