Essential Duties:
Conduct research on the latest advancements and techniques in Natural Language Processing (NLP), as well as assisting in the design, development, and implementation of NLP algorithms and models. The role involves collecting, preprocessing, and analyzing textual data for NLP tasks, collaborating closely with the team to evaluate and enhance existing NLP models and systems. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to explore and experiment with various NLP frameworks, libraries, and tools. Active participation in team meetings and discussions to contribute ideas and insights is expected. Furthermore, the candidate will contribute to software development efforts by constructing deployable NLP systems and infrastructure.
Required Skills:
• Strong understanding of NLP concepts, algorithms, and techniques.
• Proficient in at least one major coding language (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and machine learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Familiarity with NLP libraries and frameworks such as NLTK, spaCy, HuggingFace.
• Solid understanding of traditional NLP techniques, such as semantic parsing, named entity recognition, part-of-speech tagging, syntactic parsing, and information extraction.
• Knowledge of the latest developments in Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-3, GPT-4, or similar models.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Understanding of common challenges and limitations of existing NLP techniques and the ability to propose innovative solutions.
• Ability to optimize and develop lightweight LLMs for deployment in resource-constrained environments.
• Publications in top-tier research conferences and journals.
Required Education:
Currently pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Network Science, Applied Math, Statistics, EE or related fields.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position $35 – $50 per hour.
