Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a .NET Software Engineer for a position supporting the U.S. Army’s Non-Destructive Test Equipment (NDTE) program at Redstone Arsenal. NDTE provides mission support for the US Army, US Marine Corps (USMC), US Air Force (USAF), and various other Department of Defense (DoD) entities. NDTE is responsible for the support and sustainment of DoD technical assets that deliver mission critical capabilities to the Warfighter in full- operations.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design, develop, document, test, and implement a .NET web application that aligns with operational requirements and program mission goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and provide technical recommendations for: UI/UX requirements, reporting and analytic capabilities, data acquisition logistics, and database optimization efforts.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize system performance, capabilities and troubleshoot any related issues.
• Analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program, data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
• Collaborate with a Database Engineer to optimize database performance by conducting performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
• Utilize an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Visual Studio to create, edit, maintain and compile software.
• Utilize Git to maintain code repositories.
• Participate in regular code peer reviews.
• Attend weekly stand-up meetings via Microsoft Teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5+ years of experience, additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience working as a Software Engineer on .NET Web Applications.
• Demonstrate a high level of competence in object-oriented analysis, design and coding in a .NET server-side environment.
• At least 3 years’ experience using Microsoft Visual Studio for Web based development.
• Familiarity with database security best practices and techniques for data protection.
• Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies, as well as disaster recovery procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Must possess active Interim or Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
Desired qualifications:
• In-depth understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and normalization.
• Experience with Project Management systems such as Azure DevOps.
• Implementation of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) libraries into .NET applications.
• Experience working with image analysis framework such as Optical Character Recognition or Image Processing Analytics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team and interact with stakeholders.
• Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting database performance issues.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
• Computing Environment training or certification valid in ATCTS
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $50,000 – $90,000.
Due to the nature of the government contracts this position requires US Citizenship.
