Job Summary:
The Network and Camera Associate is responsible for the support and maintenance of LAN/WAN and Security Camera systems for the school district. Responsible for all aspects of technical standards, operating procedures, and policies for network technologies along with the selection of hardware, software and service providers for network and camera systems within D300. Employees will strive to provide students and staff with a safe, clean, and comfortable environment to learn and work.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support, monitoring, maintenance and operation of wired and wireless network systems in each building
- Support, monitoring, maintenance and operation of wide area network (WAN) systems including fiber, wireless and carrier services (e.g, MPLS, metro ethernet/EPL, etc.)
- Support, monitoring, maintenance and operation of telecommunication system including (but not limited to) unified communications, VoIP telephony, TDM & analog (POTS) telephony and faxing.
- Support, monitoring, maintenance and operation of security camera systems including (but not limited to) NVR Servers, provisioning repairing and maintaining
- Support the design, installation and upgrade of LAN, WAN and camera systems including coordination with and oversight of external vendors involved in such activities.
- Management and administration of external vendor services and contracts related to camera systems
- Advocates for technology equity and adequacy needs to help assure technology parity and equipment refresh rates are within established parameters to meet district standards.
- Performs general hardware maintenance activities; plans and arranges for major hardware repair and warranty work.
- Ensures data confidentiality and security is maintained in handling sensitive documents & information.
- Maintains a current level of required technical knowledge to perform in a fast-changing environment.
- Provides support in the effort to increase the use of appropriate technology in education

- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related area of study.
- Minimum four years related professional experience required.
- Proficiency in Cisco wired and wireless technologies (relevant Cisco certifications are strongly desired).
- Proficiency in Exacqvision or similar Network Video Recorder software
- Proficiency with Axis, Sony and Panasonic network cameras
- Proficiency in Palo Alto network technologies
Compensation:
Level 14 $26.97 per hour, entry level for new NUG members, with benefits.
Full-Time (8 hours per day).
12 month position
