The anticipated salary range for this role is between $134,000.00 and $195,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
A Network Engineering position providing support to SMBC Americas Division with a focus on Capital Markets and Nikko. Responsibilities include network infrastructure and telecom, delivering uninterrupted business operation, performing scheduled maintenance, and ownership of projects and implementations. Main areas of expertise include: cloud deployments, automations, data, network security and logistics.
Role Objectives
• Work on assigned network infrastructure projects
• Perform analysis of alerts and events reported by network management platforms and work with senior staff on resolution
• Provide support during system installations across all sites
• Provide 2nd level support on daily network infrastructure issues reported by infrastructure and development groups
• Provide support to other Systems Infrastructure teams during project implementation
• Maintain inventory of network and telecom devices
• Facilitate meeting with vendors and maintain vendor contact database
Qualifications and Skills
5 – 7 years’ experience
Candidate should have strong theoretical and hands on knowledge on cloud networking deployments as code.
Candidate should have strong theoretical and hands on and skills to support, configure, and install networking hardware devices
Candidate should have previous experience working with network infrastructure areas preferably in a financial institution
Required Skills/Abilities
• Advanced knowledge on configuration cloud infrastructure components.
• Advanced knowledge on network infrastructure as code deployments in cloud via Terraform, Cloud Formation.
• Advanced knowledge on automation via Ansible.
• Advanced knowledge on routers, switches, firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco).
• Advanced knowledge on design and architecture of LAN, MAN, WAN, SAN networks, SD networks
• Advanced Knowledge of routing protocols EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NAT, LACP, CDP, UDLD, VPC, DNS, DHCP
• Advanced knowledge on troubleshooting networking issues OSI layers 1-7 across data, voice and video, storage networks
• Knowledge on network management platforms: Cisco ISE, Cisco DNAC, Solarwinds, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, DNAC, Collaboration and Assurance, DCNM,
• Ability to support mixed data, voice, and video networks
• Capability of performing and complete tasks and projects independently
• Understanding of WiFi networks and basic components
• Ability to perform copper and fiber cable structure work
After business hours and weekend work will be required. Comp time (Time or another day off) will be given in lieu of late night and weekend work.
