A Network Security Engineer is needed in the Network Operations Center to manage, monitor and coordinate cyber security initiatives including incident responses, vulnerability management and AV product management.
In this role, you will be tasked with monitoring and response to active threats and vulnerabilities to our core infrastructure, endpoints and network. You will work with various security monitoring tools including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; as well as handling the security monitoring and assessments, and working closely with firewalls and access controls.
Responsibilities Include:
- Researching, designing, implementing and analyzing Network Security and Firewall Solutions across the Blue Ridge network
- Investigating and remediating alerts provided by SIEM services
- Managing communications, data points and reports with cyber security providers
- Managing, configuring and coordinating multiple security solutions and remediating vulnerabilities
- Providing a high level of technical understanding
- Interacting with hardware and software vendors when troubles need intervention
- Using escalation standards and personal judgment to ensure timely resolution of problems
- Providing training and support to Network Operations employees
- Managing time-sensitive projects
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Networking Technology, Computer Science, or Network Security
- Valid PA Driver’s License and good driving record
- Residency in Pennsylvania
- Networking Experience in an ISP or Large Enterprise Role
- CompTIA Network+ & Security+ Certifications
- Cisco CCNA / CCNP Security Certifications
- Understanding key aspects of Information Security, including:
- Security Controls
- Risk Assessment and Management
- Security Policy and Procedures
- Network Security
- Incident Response
- Disaster Recovery
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and Unix (Solaris) Operating Systems
- Network Fundamentals and Familiarity with Palo Alto PAN-OS, Cisco IOS, IOS-XE and IOS-XR.
- Experience with Firewall principles and Access Lists
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various security tools, system logs and packet captures, including Syslog, XDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and Vulnerability scanners
- Experience with Cisco Service Provider hardware and software
- Cisco CMTS, Routers, Switches
- General knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting with dynamic routing protocols
- Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANS, SNMP, BGP, and OSFP
- Knowledge of how to work with common encryption and cryptography methods
- Computer Scripting Skills, for routine task automation and playbooks: Python, Ansible
