Availability of Position: Immediate
Schedule: Full time; Monday- Friday 9 am- 5 pm
Reporting Relationship: NDNH Manager
Salary/Grade: $45,500 /10 Exempt
Continuation of this position is dependent upon the renewal of the grant or continued funding.

Responsibilities
Description of Position:
New Day New Home Housing Stabilization Specialist focuses on what needs to happen in order to stabilize housing, rather than what needs to happen to solve all the household’s needs. This is done by meeting with residents monthly to develop individualized self-sufficiency goal plans to meet their vocational, educational, and housing needs along with understanding a household’s barriers to sustaining housing. These plans include things such as resume building, career interest assessments, practice interviews, and connects with college and training opportunities, behavioral health, substance use, legal, employment and childcare services. The Housing Stabilization Specialist facilitates a monthly group on these topics, and builds linkages in the community with employers, job training and various other social service providers. The Housing Stabilization Specialist will lay the foundation for educational and vocational goals for clients with the Case Manager and the 24-hour Milieu staff supporting on a daily basis. The Housing Stabilization Specialist will spend time in the community connecting with various housing organizations, landlords etc and will build up a community-based network to connect residents to stable housing. The Housing Stabilization Specialist will conduct visits, inspections to apartments and support clients with housing related needs. The Housing Stabilization Specialist will participate in weekly clinical meets and biweekly team meetings. This is a grant funded position and relies on the continuation of funding.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters level Social Work, Or Counselling. Prior residential, social service, or customer service work experience.
- Experience in educational/vocational advising, career development, and resource development.
- Experience in networking, connecting and collaborating with community programs and organizations.
- Experience in housing related programs, resources and relationships with landlords.
- Experience in leading and implementing group sessions, trainings, etc.
- Have an understanding and be able to apply the concept of trauma informed care.
- Must have computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel Programs and be proficient in and the ability to utilize the internet.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel from site to site as may be needed in the performance of duties.
- As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Professional-level communications skills verbal and written.
