General Purpose
NFL Flag Football Referee works in cooperation with the program director carrying out specific program activities, primarily refereeing flag football games for grades K-8. Must be available on Saturdays, from 8:30am-12:30pm, from August 26 – November 4.
Essential Job Functions
- Follow all departmental rules and regulations.
- Officiate games to maintain standards of play and to ensure that game rules are observed.
- Inspect sporting equipment and/or examine participants in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Confer with other referees, coaches, players, and staff in order to provide information and discuss any issues or concerns.
- Communicate with participants in a professional manner.
- Fair and courteous treatment of all participants, coaches, and spectators.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

- At least one year of related work experience preferred.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Possess full knowledge of football rules and regulations.
- Have an eye for detail and possess strong verbal communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Must be able to effectively enforce rules.
- Ability to work Saturdays as required.
- Maintain an appropriate and professional demeanor at all times.
- Follow all departmental rules and regulations.
- Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules, and personnel policies.
