The Model Based Software Solutions group is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and creative Scientific Application Developer who will be part of a development team working on software applications supporting the Mechanical Structural Engineering/Model Based Engineering organization. This team is involved in Graphical User Interface (GUI) design, data graphics and tool design primarily using the Python Framework.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with project leads and customers to confirm and establish functional requirements, technical designs and be willing to take ownership throughout the entire Software Design Lifecycle (SDLC).

Primary responsibilities include supporting software development including detailed software design, coding, unit/integration testing, and support for requirements analysis. Specifically, this position will involve the development of new application features, troubleshooting, and resolving various software issues.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is a hybrid position. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite (3 days virtually) at one of the listed locations options, Everett, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development and management, and performs limited analysis of process and product baselines.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of Configuration and Data Management standards, processes, systems and tools.
  • Utilizes data gathered from customers to assist in the definition of Configuration and Data Management requirements for product hardware, software and engineering design data systems.
  • Assists in the integration, routine analysis and resolution of issues with engineering product structure. Assists with the development and implementation of engineering technical program plans of limited scope including impacts, risks and incorporation of lessons learned.
  • Works under general supervision.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design methods, with coding experience in JavaScript and Python
  • Must be able to integrate software components into a fully functional software system 3 years
  • Must be able to write automated testing and document test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Must have experience developing and maintaining documentation of requirements, architecture designs, algorithms and user interfaces for software systems.
  • Have experience with GitLab, Git command lines and CI/CD (Continuous integration and deployment)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience working Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience working in an agile team environment
  • Experience working with containers
  • Neo4J database experience
  • Experience generating test cases from requirements
  • Programming Language: Java
  • Have knowledge of cloud APIs (RESTFUL and Sockets)
  • Others: DOS Batch Scripting, PowerShell Scripting, BASH Scripting

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years’ related work experience, 5 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Pay Range Level 2: $79,050-$106,950

Pay Range Level 3:$96,050-$129,950
