The NPI Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for taking the lead role in deploying new products at Lucid. The NPI Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Project Lifecycle Management, Vehicle Integration, Design Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of new products and changes.
You Will:
- Understand product and part design and the impact of design changes.
- Gain holistic knowledge of the product, production processes, and manufacturing technologies in order to understand and mitigate risks, as well as to recognize optimization opportunities.
- Work with affected teams to understand the critical actions necessary for successful introduction of new features, capabilities, and products, and ensure those needs will be met ahead of deployment.
- Participate in Engineering Change Request meetings to understand the scope of changes and assess impact to Operations by working with cross functional team members.
- Help with readiness of New Product Launch working closely with Operations team members.
- Maintain and communicate project timelines.
- Coordinate and effectively run meetings to resolve issues related to product changes.
- Manage material cut-over activity.
- Throughout the NPI process, you will look for opportunities to improve the process and quality.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field strongly preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in manufacturing required.
- 2+ years in New Product Introduction General Assembly/Powertrain.
- Experience in the automotive industry or Tier-1 supplier is a must.
- Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments.
- Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company.
- Excellent collaboration skills, team working skills with cross functional team members required.
- Working knowledge of Catia, Delmia, SAP preferred.
- Possess knowledge and experience across multiple functions within product design and manufacturing, operations.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a start up environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
• California (Bay Area) – $104,000 – $143,000 per year
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
