The Boeing Defense | Space & Launch | Ground Mission Planning Software Engineering team is currently seeking an Experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join its team in the Potomac Region (Chantilly, Herndon, Fairfax, VA).
The organization seeks a highly talented, motivated, and creative software developer to engineer and architect new solutions that support DOD and national intelligence community programs.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position responsibilities:
- Software design, coding, and unit/integration testing of customer driven capabilities
- Develop, modify, and sustain new and existing applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve various software issues in support of an operational system
- Contribute to the creation of new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture
- Develop & maintain software architecture on a cloud infrastructure with several consumer-facing web applications

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires an active TS clearance/SCI eligible (Top Secret clearance /Sensitive Compartmented Information eligible based on a Tier 5 (T5) (formerly SSBI -Single Scope Background Investigation).
This position also requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain a CI (Counter Intelligence) polygraph after employment start.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) Associate
- 2+ years’ experience in foundational CS knowledge and object-oriented design and software patterns
- 2+ years’ experience with Java, JavaScript, or C++
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with Ground C2 or Mission planning software programs
- Leadership experience/abilities and ability to training or mentor junior engineers
- Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management is preferred.
- Experience with one or more of the following: HTML 5, CSS 3, Javascript, Firebug and JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery, jQuery UI, Open Layers, etc.), Spring, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, SOAP, REST,
- Experience using dependency management (Ivy, Maven, Gradle)
- Experience using cloud based infrastructure (AWS)
- Experience/knowledge of the GEOINT domain
- Experience working as part of an agile software development product team
- Knowledge of JIRA, GIT and other work management software
Typical Education/Experience:
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study. Prior experience maybe considered for qualification.
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range:
Level 2 $90,950 – $123,050
Level 3 $112,200 – $151,800
