Nutrition Services: 8hr 52wk School Coordinator

BASIC FUNCTION:

The School Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing cafeteria managers and their daily operations under the direction of the School Operations Manager. The School Coordinator will ensure efficient and safe school operations, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, managing inventory and resources, supervising staff, and providing excellent customer service to students and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

At least 3 years of experience in food service operations or related field

Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Experience in managing a team and providing technical assistance and training

Knowledge of food service operations and regulations, as well as federal and state regulations regarding food safety, sanitation, and operations

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Food Safety Training Certification (must obtain within 30 days of employment).

Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversee cafeteria managers and their daily operations, including food preparation, serving, cleaning, staff hiring, and training.
  2. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding food safety, sanitation, and operations.
  3. Monitor inventory and resources to ensure adequate supplies are available.
  4. Supervise cafeteria staff and provide technical assistance and training as needed
  5. Provide excellent customer service to students and staff.
  6. Assist in developing and implementing policies, practices, and procedures for the operations in school cafeterias to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  7. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop and execute strategic and marketing plans to meet department and district objectives.
  8. Analyze department data to recommend cost-effective and program-effectiveness improvements.
  9. Assist with budget management and forecasting.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the School Operations Manager to meet the particular needs of the building/unit and must demonstrate participation in and contributions to the goals of the district cross-functional teams.
