The Position
Under direct supervision, this position performs general office procedures including use of office equipment, typing, filing, data entry, answering telephones, working with the public and other related duties as required. This part-time, temporary position may be required to work flexible hours depending on the needs of the department.

- 1 part-time Office Assistant position is assigned to Human Resources at 10610 Magnolia Avenue, Santee, CA 92071.
- 1 part-time Office Assistant position is assigned to the Public Services Division of the Community Services Department at 9534 Via Zapador, Santee, CA 92071.

Representative Duties
- Type and proofread a wide variety of reports, memoranda and; compose routine correspondence;
- Assist with coordinating events and meetings.
- Provide front counter/phone customer service assistance; screen office visitors and provide information within area of assignment; respond to requests for information and distribute appropriate forms, documents and manuals;
- Document management; filing, file clean-up and organization.
- Compile information and assemble data and background materials for a variety of reports and special projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this classification. An example would be graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by course work in general office procedures. Must be able to type. *A typing certificate is not required.*

NOTE: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check (DOJ Live Scan).
This position is considered part-time temporary and does not receive any benefits other than participation in the appropriate retirement plan (CalPERS or PARS). The City only participates in the Medicare portion of social security.
PARS participants contribution 3.75% of salary to their retirement account, which is matched by the City.
PERS participants currently contribute a percentage of salary to their retirement account based on their retirement formula, with the City paying the additional required amount.
