Office Clerk – Material Recovery Facility/Transfer Station

We have the following position at our Fontana West Valley Material Recovery Facility/Transfer Station:

Office Clerk

SALARY RANGE: $20.25 – $22.55/per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing administrative support in account functions related to the reconciliation and invoicing of commercial account customers. Performs a variety of data entry and accounting functions to support the division in regulatory compliance. Prepares all documentation for the processing and shipping of commodities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Perform Month End Billing Process.
  • Ability to audit safe and make change through the Armored courier vendor.
  • Prepare the Scale House daily cash bags and do the daily reporting to Corporate.
  • Provide assistance to the Admin Supervisor with MRF Statements and DR7 submissions in DORIIS system.
  • Provide assistance to the Admin Supervisor with and special invoicing specific to each location.
  • Assist with reconciliation and invoicing of commercial account customers
  • Complete necessary forms to support division in regularity compliance
  • Facilitate cross training for new employees
  • Process and track a number of report such as transportation expenses, fuel surcharges, food waste & compost reporting.
  • Coordinate with Ops Supervisor with the weekly Waste Study schedule.
  • Support the Scale House staff with new routes and materials by contacting our internal customers.
  • Ability to organize and assist with the Employee Appreciation Lunches

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have at least five years of experience in the following areas:

  • General office procedures/10 key by touch and telephone etiquette
  • Compiling, filing and gathering information through observation and questioning
  • Experience with accounting systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proficient in MRF/TS operations including shipping commodities

  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal/communications skills with the ability to articulate thoughts and develop ideas in a logical manner

PHYSICAL:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Use a telephone, other electronic devices.
  • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 10-25 pounds

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office setting, may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
