Community Innovation and Education – Dean’s Office:
The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) is a one-of-a-kind academic unit with distinct, interdisciplinary expertise and potential for partnership with community stakeholders, conceived to address societal challenges and work alongside the community. Established in 2018, the college offers undergraduate and graduate programs on the main campus and UCF Downtown. At the heart of the college’s mission is the institutional commitment to transform lives and strengthen society by developing a unified vision and innovative solutions to complex social issues. CCIE promotes innovation through state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research with social impact, contemporary inclusive teaching and learning practices, and preeminent service for the disciplines, the institution, and the community.
The Opportunity:
The UCF College of Community Innovation and Education is seeking candidates for an Office Support Assistant position. This position is responsible for administrative support of the downtown suite for the College of Community Innovation and Education’s Dean’s Office.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall operation of the front desk procedures, administrative support for the College’s Dean’s Office, including the Executive Assistant, Associate and Assistant Deans, and for CCIE administrative team members, and the suite as a whole which includes the office of the Associate Provost of UCF Downtown.
- Serve as administrative and clerical support for CCIE Dean’s Office and various units. Duties include answering phones, greeting/referring/assisting visitors, faculty, and staff, assisting walk-in inquiries, responding to students and visitors with general questions, scheduling meetings, sorting mail, and coordinating calendars. The heavy volume of traffic for the college’s eight academic units, centers, and institutes.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the CCIE Dean’s Suite downtown Assists with the coordination, planning, organization, and preparation of activities, luncheons, and special events hosted by the CCIE Dean’s Office.
- Greet and serve as the primary point of contact for the CCIE Dean’s Office downtown suite for visitors, students, and staff/faculty.
- Create personnel files for new hires and maintain current and past employee files/records; maintain faculty and staff directories; and maintain faculty search records.
- Attend meetings and events hosted by the CCIE Dean’s Office and provides support to include set-up, breakdown, check-in, note-taking, and additional duties as needed to support the meeting or event.
- Submit service work orders on behalf of the CCIE Dean’s Office downtown suite.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Higher Education experience.
- Excellent time management, prioritizing, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
- Ability to prioritize projects.
