Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services firm located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
Content & Creative Services (CCS) is responsible for creating compelling communications that support CPG’s strategic plan and our three lines of business. Using traditional and digital media, CCS will give voice to our work by broadcasting key messages, developing curricula, sharing information, and helping business partners drive engagement with the products, programs, and services that CPG offers.
The Online Content Specialist will help develop engaging content for all online properties including cpg.org and related portals.

Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Create website content and coordinate updates with web content publisher
- Continually review new and updated website content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and application of best practices
- Provide guidance to business units on effective and engaging presentation of online content
- Collaborate with the Digital Design and Web Experience teams to ensure adherence to org governance
- Conduct scheduled and ad hoc quality control reviews of website content in collaboration with business units

- Outstanding written and oral communications
- Ability to craft engaging online content that educates and informs visitors
- Experience with copy writing and copyediting for online platforms, proofreading, information architecture, content management, and creating an engaging user experience through content
- In-depth knowledge of English spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax
- Working familiarity with The Associated Press Stylebook and/or The Chicago Manual of Style
- Ability to think critically and to clearly communicate abstract or complex issues, ideas, challenges, and solutions
- A proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to quickly garner an understanding of CPG’s businesses, its operations, and its products, programs, and services
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- BABS or combination of education and experience
- 4+ years relevant work experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Commuting to the office, on average, three days a week. Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Hybrid (two days working from home, three days working in a standard office environment). Salary Range: $67,800 – $86,400
