What you will do:
The Florida Blue Centers are and will continue to become more visible and vital to achieving our strategic imperatives through supporting our Customer Experience initiative, participating in our Enterprise Service Strategy and Care Management Strategy, and as a unique channel in our Sales Distribution Strategy.
Sales Consultants are critical to delivering on the sales, renewal, retention, and community penetration objectives of the Retail Centers. This will entail demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and competencies of a high performing sales professional through effectively consulting with prospects and existing customers to meet sales targets, performing timely and efficient lead management to drive close rates and retention, maintaining expert level product knowledge, utilizing multiple systems and technologies to maximize effectiveness, and conducting networking and business development tactics within the community to build awareness and future opportunities.
It is also critical this role demonstrates a comfort level with change to meet the dynamic, changing business environment through quickly adapting to and adopting changes in the business model to meet critical and evolving business objectives.
*This role will be OnSite at our Miami Florida Blue Center: 8895 Sw 136th Street, Miami, 33176
Hours of operation: Monday – Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Important to know:
Agents employed with Florida Blue are permitted to schedule appointments with Florida Blue, USAble, FCL and Health Options. No other health and life appointments are to be scheduled with any other company while employed with Florida Blue.
The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned:
Sales Operations
• Provide full consultative sales and service experience for customers seeking information and education on available products to support health, wellness, and income protection.
• Respond to public sales requests and general inquiries.
• Assist in managing member and non-member escalations.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement skills through identifying areas for improvement, developing fact based actions, and effectively implementing change.
• Drive execution of external community engagement and business development initiatives within the local communities the Centers serve.
• Enable effective execution of various outbound campaigns to drive new sales acquisition, member onboarding and retention, and other campaigns as deemed critical by various business partners.
• Host Customer Video Appointments
• Implement and maintain member retention plans, in concert with corporate and/or Sales sponsored retention programs to drive member persistency and satisfaction.
Business Development
• Develop and execute a personal business development plan inclusive of internal and external community engagement tactics to support individual and team goal attainment throughout the year.
• Perform local grassroots marketing, networking, event activation, and relationship building outside of the center to drive growth and advance the company mission.
• Build and foster relationships with key constituents, organizations, networking groups, etc. to build community awareness of the center services.
• Travel to employer groups to provide onsite enrollment assistance to individuals requiring individual coverage.
• Meet/exceed monthly targets for community engagement work and effectively record, track, and measure the impact to build or adjust future plans.
• Support Field Marketing, Local Market Presence, and Foundation initiatives to drive greater brand awareness and market share for the enterprise.
Community Engagement
• Assist Center Leader with marketing efforts to promote the company brand, build customer relationships and loyalty to drive achieving business objectives in region.
• Participate in corporate sponsored events (internal and external) to generate traffic, support membership, and create positive brand awareness.
• Drive continuous improvement in the value generated from external community engagement and business development.
• Manage key relationships in the market with local presence teams, provider network partners, community partners, and key influencers in the market.
What you will need:
Experience:
- 2+ years of work experience in a retail sales environment
- Ability to attend marketing/promotional events
- Demonstrated ability to meet/exceed sales targets
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of change management methodologies and principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and web-based tools
Licenses and/or Certifications:
- State of Florida 2-40 license or the license must be retained within 60 days
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Bilingual Spanish
- Experience with health insurance products to include individual and group plans
- Experience in outside sales and/or business development
- Experience in networking, public speaking, and relationship management

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases.
Hourly Pay Range: $20-33
Typical Hourly Pay Range: $20-25
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
