Job Summary:
The Operations Business Analyst provides a range of operational and financial analysis and support for market processes such as registration, compliance, and performance reporting. Working together with the guidance of leadership within the Market Operations Department, the Operations Business Analyst performs necessary tasks to analyze and prepare customer accounts for market registration, organize and process customer data using automated tools, perform data and trend analysis on customer data, track and report customer/portfolio performance, prepare data submissions to the market, and reconcile performance with settlement. The Operations Business Analyst may also be asked to obtain additional knowledge and have the flexibility to work across other regions as requested. This position may also require working outside of normal business hours during certain times of the year.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The Operations Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating and analyzing customer data from an operational and financial perspective through collaboration with other business groups as well as performing market tasks/processes in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Tasks include:

  • Coordinating and collaborating with Sales and Customer Care groups to prepare existing and new customer accounts for registration into the various Demand Response programs
  • Coordinating with Metering and Technology departments to process compliance data for submission to the market
  • Analyzing customer and portfolio performance
  • Preparing reports for review by management and reconciling performance and settlement to ensure we are settled correctly by the market
  • Ensuring that they are completing tasks in accordance with market rules and standard operating procedures and within the established timeframes.
  • Works closely with management to establish priorities and successfully drive maximum value for the business.

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment.
  • Hybrid role 3 days a week in the office.
  • Some overtime is required as special projects arise.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of professional work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must have work experience with excel worksheets and large data sets
  • Must have proficiency in Excel skills (VBA, Macros, and/or SQL)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Must have experience working in a team setting

  • Energy-related experience

  • Competence with mathematics, technical concepts, and data and trend analysis

The salary range for this role is $43,040 – $77,520. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
