Organization Description
Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California’s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes, and implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services and health care sectors.

Program Description
The Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP) is a supportive housing rental subsidy program of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) along with other partners and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. The goal of the FHSP is to secure quality affordable housing for DHS patients who are experiencing homelessness. Brilliant Corners, the central coordinating community-based partner for FHSP, works to secure a broad range of housing options, including single-family homes, individual apartments, blocks of units, or entire buildings. Brilliant Corners identifies and secures units Countywide, provides move-in assistance and rental subsidy disbursements, coordinates with case managers, and ensures participant housing stability.
Position Description
The Operations Specialist- Contracts and Payments position plays a key role as a member of the FHSP Operations department. This position works closely with finance, fund development, and external partners to provide reporting, process orders and payments. Tasks may include processing payments related to contracts and grants, working with external vendors to purchase or reserve items for clients, and provide reporting on spend-down. This position will be a thought partner in process optimization and systems building with internal stakeholders and funders.
This position is responsible for working closely with the Contracts & Grants Supervisor to track incoming requests and establish best practices for item orders and payments. A typical day for this position can include booking a hotel for at-risk clients, meeting with external funders and approving payment requests. This position will be reviewing and tracking payments using Salesforce, Excel, and/or IntAcct accounting software and respond promptly to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. This position requires moderate knowledge of Microsoft Excel to provide reports to supervisor and partners.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Education
- 2+ years’ experience ideally, but not necessarily in supportive housing or a similar social justice field preferred but not required
- Experience with bookkeeping/payments processing preferred
