Position Overview
Starting Salary Range is $38,355 – $43,139. The initial salary offer is commensurate with education and related work experience.

The Operations Specialist maintains a high level of customer service, runs an efficient and accurate level of communication for all Performing Arts Center activities, acts as the first point of contact for audience members, other college departments, and works closely with the Performing Arts Center Director.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly and efficient first point of contact for public and visiting professionals, offering information about performances, workshops, and events.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with audience members, visiting companies, resident organizations, and all other visitors.
  • Manage ticket control and admissions
  • Work with appropriate departments and visiting companies to ensure tidiness of theatre, including auditorium, studios, dressing rooms, front of house, etc.
  • Manage the calendar of events, communicating staffing needs for Security, Custodial and HVAC for all events at the PAC
  • Enter all events at the PAC into Peoplesoft, ensuring that all events are recorded and accurate in the Weekly event spreadsheet
  • Enter PR, Check requests, and Contracts for Services required by public Events.
  • Coordinate volunteers to operate as ushers and front of house staff for all public events.
  • Train Box Office staff and all front of house volunteers for public events.
  • Assist Performing Arts Center Director in the day-to-day operations of the Performing Arts Center.
  • Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities may require additional hours and flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.
  • Manage all social media accounts for the Performing Arts Center. Including creating content to post for advertising purposes.
  • Distribute advertising for public events to the Arts District, The Baytown Sun and any other relevant source. Assist with targeted mailings and seasonal brochures.
  • Manages Customer feedback surveys, mailing list, and constant contact for the performing arts center public events.
  • Act as main point of contact with VPA Secretary and staff to align the events of the VPA with all Public Events at the PAC
  • Manage the selling of season ticket packages. Maintaining a good relationship with patrons to grow the Season ticket package program.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend VPA and other meetings related to activities and events in the PAC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • One (1) year of related work experience
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must have a working knowledge of performing arts safety and safety equipment
  • Must be able to maintain an established work schedule
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred

  • Associate’s (or higher) degree or successful completion of sixty (60) college credit hours
