Overview The Sr. Manager Commercial ASIC is a Business Area (BA) Manager and this is a lead role that is responsible for all aspects of business area product management for Frontgrade product lines to initially (but not exclusively) include Commercial (majority medical) ASICs. The BA Manager will own the development of product, solutions, and services, customer engagements, and marketing/sales strategies for these product lines. The BA Manager will lead all proposals and RFP responses and will be responsible for delivering awards and sales which meet or exceed Microelectronics Business Area LRSP commitments. Responsibilities The BA Manager will develop business cases to justify IRAD (Independent Research and Development) and capital investment requests, will manage these budgets and initiatives, and will lead identification and implementation of affordability initiatives to reduce cost and increase margins for the business area product lines. The BA Manager will serve as manager of the business area Program Manager(s), driving resolution of programmatic and technical issues. This position is key in leading and managing cross-functional resources in delivering products and features to existing customers as well as identifying new markets. This lead role is accountable to full Profit and Loss (P&L) for a ~$30M business and will use extensive technical and business knowledge to provide both tactical and strategic direction to define and execute the product lines for current and next generation products. YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility of Frontgrade Business Area. Leads strategic planning process for the business area. Ownership of new product/service introductions, enhancements, and roadmaps. Lead all aspects of product life cycle from concept to obsolescence. Lead cross-functional teams of Engineering, Operations, Quality and Program Management, etc. through product development and releases. Define product/service definition and specification through concise and thorough documentation and communication with cross-functional departments. Develop company responses to RFI/RFP from major customers, working closely with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Finance, Contracts, HR and Trade Compliance. Prepare & and present (as required) Business Area Review presentations to Leadership. Own technical, operational, and quality, issues. Manage and follow through with issue resolution by making assignments to responsible teams. Proactively track tasks progress and manage schedule. Responsible for motivating, challenging, guiding, leading and directing the activities to meet long range goals pertinent to quality, schedule reliability, cost and profitability, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, manufacturing and continuous improvement. Coordinate visits with customer representatives, arrange and participate in conferences as required. Provide technical expertise to Sales and Marketing Communications for creation of product positioning, collateral, competitive analysis, training, and customer presentations. Develop product roadmap, PV investment strategy, and schedule for ASIC products/services. Contribute to the company’s overall LRSP business plan. Manage Development and Operations Program Manager(s).and Operations Program Manager(s). Develop successors for organizational positions and work with local team to ensure a robust talent pipeline and career development, while proactively addressing capabilities of the strategic talent. Foster effective relationships cross-functionally, at all levels, to enhance collaboration and communication. Influence others; persuasively present thoughts and ideas; gain commitment and ensure support for proposed ideas. Create an open environment that encourages people to work together to solve problems and improve practices and services. Qualifications HOW TO SUCCEED Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, and/or Engineering. 5+ years’ experience in a silicon design or development organization. 10 years of leadership experience (preferably in semiconductor industry). Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business, and/or Engineering. 5yrs experience managing business area operations in the semiconductor industry (including P&L). 5yrs experience in advanced packaging or OSAT (outsourced assembly and test) environment. 5yrs experience in marketing and/or business development for technical products. 5yrs experience in delivering technical solutions in an aerospace/defense environment. 5yrs experience in proposal writing, especially for US Government programs. 2yrs experience in CRM via Salesforce or similar tool. 2yrs experience in managing technical and/or marketing personnel. Proven ability to design, deliver winning roadmaps ahead of competitor based on sound market sensing and judgment. Results oriented and able to recruit, motivate and retain a team of high performance professionals. Experience of negotiating long term complex supplier agreements. Drive, enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to develop program management excellence.Demonstrated leadership skills in a matrixed organization. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and high-velocity environment. Demonstrated presentation and communication skills and comfort in presenting to a wide range of audiences from the engineering level to the executive level. Demonstrated interpersonal skills (communication, motivation, persuasion). Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. SALARY Salary Range: $122,000 – $162,000 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well business results.
